asdesign is a studio that doesn’t aim for a single location but aims to be more open and welcoming to those that want help with their brands. A new domain for a new beginning.

The last year or so has been quite a change for myself and my business (asdesign). The first of these was the unfortunate situation of having to move from my home in London and relocate to somewhere in the UK. This wasn’t a decision that was easy to make but as I sit in my new home (of 2 months) in Stockport it’s the first time since I left London I’m feeling grounded and excited about design again. The move has led to the obvious change of my web address and initial targeting of London to a more wider and open approach of asdesignstudio.co.uk. This change of wording from London to Studio has been a decision which as a business came easily as it feels less insular but has come with the acceptance of the last year.

The second of these changes was to step back a little from asdesign (focusing on existing clients, art lead projects and self-initiated work) and help build the branding side of the Studio team at OBI. With strong views on property marketing, which I’ve written about previously, it is certainly interesting to work at the heart of this sector in Manchester which seems to be growing at a phenomenal rate. With a great team, the projects and output have been fantastic. One of the biggest branding projects we’ve worked on is soon to be launched after a year in development so watch this space.

The third was a couple of family losses which are never easy to deal with. With all these changes and others which came from these, there are obvious knock-ons with motivation and work output. I’m usually not this open as to my personal life but I thought it best to be honest about where asdesign is and the plans for the future. This does mean that as asdesign is myself then situations in life do impact my work in a very direct way.

The new domain is how I now see asdesign. It’s a studio that doesn’t aim for a single location but aims to be more open and welcoming to those that want help with their brands. I’ll be continuing with OBI and it’s Studio team in tandem with the work I do for asdesign. The projects are different enough and I have enough time to develop both. I’m always open for a chat so if you’re interested feel free to get in touch via my new email alister@asdesignstudio.co.uk

As a note for the next year anything @asdesignlondon.com will be redirected to my new domain.
